Living at Whiston Grove in 1871 was John C. Heaton, age 41, brass Founder from Chesterfield, his wife Sarah age 40, and their children:
- Evelyn, unmarried age 18
- John age 16, Brass Founder
- William age 15
- Eleanor age 12
- George age 8
William married Frances Mary Oldfield (1853-1930) the daughter of Samuel Edward Oldfield (1817-1886) from Marlbrough, Wiltshire and Elizabeth (Nee Adams(1816-1903). 1924).
They married on 15th May 1880 at Rotherham Parish Church. Children:
- Francis Emily born 2/03/1881
- Hubert born 10/01/1883. Married Harriet Jane Smith
- Sydney Edward born 1/03/1885.
About 1883 the Millmoor Works of Wm Heaton Brass founders was set up by William Heaton, an employee of Guest and Chrimes. It was later known as Heaton's Bath Co. Ltd
