Thomas HAMMOND, was born 1765 at Braithwell son of Lancelot & Susanna He married 1788 at Whiston to Mary MIDGLEY, b1767 daughter of John & Sarah(Nee Sylvestor). Children, born Whiston:

Joseph Hammond, in 1794, gave £300, since increased to £443; for teaching children.
William and Elizabeth had son John b.28 SEP 1806 Whiston
In 1823 land tenanted by Thomas Hammond was for sale by auction: A Messuage, croft, and Garden, and a Close Of land, called Almond Leys
In memory of Mary wife of Benjamin Hammond who died 15 July 1864 aged 80 years. Also Benjamin Hammond died June 19th
1880 aged 80

- Conveyance by Joseph Hammond of Whiston, gent., to John Brookes of Sheffield, merchant, of a close called the Nether Ox pasture near Brincliffe Edge in Sheffield and a parcel of land adjoining. BAG/13/10/112 2 and 3 Aug. 1773
- Assignment of trust by John Nodder of Cuthorpe in Brampton parish, co. Derby, gent., by the direction of Joseph Hammond of Whiston, gent. and the John Brookes, to Lord John Murray, respecting the Nether Ox pasture. BAG/13/10/128 26 Jan. 1780
- Thomas Hammond, button maker, lived at Tapton Hill in Sheffield in 1755. He died about 1767. His will dated 1772
